Online marketer use forums to build their brand, traffic and sales. You can find many forums on specific topics or interest, just Google it “YOUR NICHE + forum”, you should find tons of related forums!

Let’s say I want to find golf related forum, I just need to type “Golf forum”, and it should return all related forums. If however you can’t find even 1 forum in your market, I would suggest you drop the niche! If there isn’t any forum, do you think there are anyone who is interested in this topic?

Yes, there might be, but you are going to find some matured market, not the starting or growing market… So skip it and move on; Unless you are not looking at the right place, try other related keywords in your niche, “OTHER KEYWORD + forum”, if still no luck after 5 or 10 searches, skip it and look for new niches.

After you join the forum, remember to create links and pitches back to your website in your signature, this will build back link and traffic from the forum! And when you participate in the forum, just provide good information and resources for the forum member, they will be more likely to respect you and buy from you when they follow your signature link to your site!

Another way to do forum marketing is to host your own forum, you can create your own forum and advertise your own product or affiliate products. The trick is to make the forum “active”, you need to do some keyword research, or go other forum to find the Question and Answer, create few accounts and start posting the question and answer in your own forum!

Just continue to post the question and answer, and may be outsourcing someone to post some good content and question for you, in 2 or 3 months time, your should be able to create the momentum to keep the forum running, key is to provide value to your visitors!

If you want to start your own forum, you need some good forum software such as phpbb, and if you want faster result, you should consider invest in Forum Post Robot, this is not a forum spamming software, but a software to help you create forum posts in your own forum.

To maximize your traffic and backlink effort, always try to join and post in high page rank and high traffic web site, you can multiply your effort easily.
