There is some debate about what is the best way to monetize website traffic: through adsense, or promoting affiliate products. My experience is that sites that promote and review affiliate products often bring in far more than MFA (made for adsense) sites.

Of course, a lot of it comes down to the quality of traffic. If you are targeting people who WANT to buy something then you will find that you can make quite a lot per visitor with affiliate sites. On the other hand, if you get target search engine traffic to your adsense site, and you are targeting high paying keywords, then you can pull in some decent coin from adsense. Overall, though, with the same quality of traffic, the affiliate model usually pulls more.

The problem most people have is that making an affiliate pitch site takes more work, because you have to review products effectively. This can take some time, and it’s not particularly exciting. If you want, you can actually combine the two and have adsense AND affiliate links on the same site. There is nothing really wrong with doing this at all. In the end you have to test it for yourself.

I have tons more internet marketing tips on my other website. Over there, I provide hundreds of FREE articles (written by a professional internet marketer) for your use. They cover basically every topic you can think of - and there is no jumping through hoops required.
